Bardoul advertising films

Edward Bardoul

I was after a job in the media from an early age. After experimenting in my secondary school years with publishing a little magazine and making cartoons, I caught wind of the advertising trade. By way of the Willem de Kooning Academy I landed an internship at what people then called the ministry of advertising, FHV/BBDO. Started as an art director, later settled mostly on writing.

I still do art direction now and then, but the same goes for music, directing, production, strategy and building digital platforms. Advertising is the speciality, only it is a multidisciplinary trade, and the temptation to keep learning has always been too strong.

Thanks to digitisation and AI I more and more often oversee the whole process (‘from strategy to broadcast copy’ is my own working motto). Alongside that, ten years as a columnist for Adformatie, three years teaching copywriting, and lately I build my own software, from a pitch tool to smart mobile apps.
